Storyboard 10

Storyboard 11

Today I saw the future of rock ‘n roll and it is Emily. Seriously. I went to the Minnesota Music Cafe to photograph the School of Rock kids perform. These kids are amazing and they can rock. They do a 45 minute individual lesson and a 3 hour group rehearsal every week and then about every four months, do a show. This quarter’s show was Maiden vs Priest, Petty vs Heart, and Motown. And while all the kids were amazing, Emily stole my musical heart. She just turned 12 and has the skills and attitude to make it already.

Caroline Smith and the Good Night Sleeps

Tuesday, February 16th, 2010

Just one photo today while I’m in between projects. Something a little different than newborn baby loaves. :) This is Caroline Smith of Caroline Smith and the Good Night Sleeps who performed at the Turf Club last week. They’ve got a folk-pop sound, complete with banjos and harmonicas. Writing about music is definitely not my forte so I’ll just say that Caroline Smith is cute as can be and you should go see her.

You can listen to some of their music on their MySpace page.
